Print Handy Drop-Chart with FREE Hornady Ballistics Calculator « Daily Bulletin (2024)

Need a simple, easy-to-use drop chart for your rifle? Something you can tape right to the buttstock? Then check out Hornady’s handy Online Ballistics Calculator. This user-friendly calculator will compute your drops accurately, and output a handy “Cheat Sheet” you can print and attach to your rifle. Simply input G1 or G7 BC values, muzzle velocity, bullet weight, zero range and a few other variables. Click “Calculate” and you’re good to go. You can select the basic version, or an advanced version with more data fields for environmental variables (altitude, temperature, air pressure, and humidity). You can also get wind drift numbers by inputing wind speed and angle.

Conveniently, on the trajectory output, come-ups are listed in both MOA and Mils — so this will work with either MOA clicks or Mil-based clicks. There are more sophisticated ballistics solvers available on the web (such as the outstanding Applied Ballistics Online Calculator), but the Hornady Calculator is very simple and easy to use. If you just want a basic drop chart, you may want to check this out.

   This sort of come up table has been around for the longest time. The problem with them is the distance increments are pre-defined and do not match correctly with scope clicks.

   It would be better to determine which distance matches each scope click in ¼ MOA increments for example. That’s all the possible zeros. It works better than picking some arbitrary distance increment.

   Editor: This very same chart always gets me within one or two quarter-MOA clicks of “Dead On” at 600 yards (depending on temps) using my 6mmBR rifle with 105gr bullets. I’m not quite sure the issue you’re talking about. What’s wrong with “pre-defined” distance increments if you are shooting at known distances? I guess if you have a scope with clicks that are “way off”, you could have an issue. I don’t and most people don’t.

   EDITOR: Hornady won’t do this for you sir. You need to go online, input your load specs and print it out on your own.

   Reloading data for 180 gr GMX for 30-06 my old book does not show GMX 180 gr. Thank You Gary Allino

   I am shooting Hornady Whitetail 150 Gr. that is sighted in at 50 yards due to available space. What is my point of impact at 100, 200, 300 yards?
