Giants reveal commemorative patch in advance of franchise’s 100th season - Nick Shook, NFL.com
New York set to wear jersey patches all year, with other celebrations throughout the season.
The 2024 season will be a special one for the New York Giants, regardless of on-field results.
The upcoming campaign will be the 100th for the franchise, which began play in 1925. The Giants will honor the landmark year with a special patch to be worn on their jerseys this season, which the team revealed Monday:

The new icon tells the story written by one of the NFL’s oldest franchises over the last century, featuring a shield designed in the shape of the team’s first home, the Polo Grounds, as well as zeroes in the shape of their former home, Giants Stadium, and eight football laces to honor the club’s eight NFL championships. The logo also includes a depiction of a Giants quarterback ready to fire a pass downfield, an image inspired by the team’s classic logo showing a Giant throwing a pass over the skyline of New York City.
“I first saw the Giants play in person in the early 1960s when my father would take me to games at Yankee Stadium,” Giants EVP and chairman Steve Tisch said in a statement released by the team Monday. “Going to Giants games was a wonderfully magical ritual. It inspired my lifelong love of the Giants. When my father became an equal partner of the Giants in 1991, it was the realization of a longtime dream. Our family has relished our association with the Giants and look forward to many years of success in the future.”
The Giants will wear the patch on their uniforms for the entire 2024 season, which will include a number of special events dedicated to celebrating their 100th season.
Washington Commanders OC Kliff Kingsbury Already Making His Mark in Return to NFL - David Harrison, Sports Illustrated
Kingsbury’s return to NFL coaching is evident just a couple practices into the offseason.
Kliff Kingsbury took some time away from the NFL before returning this season as the offensive coordinator for the Washington Commanders, and in the meantime helped coach USC quarterback Caleb Williams who eventually became the future of the Chicago Bears franchise this April.
Now with the Commanders, Kingsbury’s next task will be helping former LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels become a franchise savior. Do that and he’ll almost assuredly get another crack at being an NFL head coach.
We’ve only had the opportunity to witness two Washington practices with Kingsbury running head coach Dan Quinn’s offense, but the changes from years past to now are already evident.
“Man, it’s fun, it’s fun, love it,” Daniels said about working with coach Kingsbury at the team’s rookie minicamp. “I mean, just the open communication, open dialogue, having those guys around me. Obviously, coached at the highest level, played too, so different set of eyes, man. So, I’m trying to be a sponge and learn as much as possible.”
The combination is drumming up a ton of excitement in the nation’s capital, and has everyone itching to get to the next step in team development, and to get a glimpse of what this new explosive offense just might really look like.

From their first-round pick to UDFA signings, Philly has put a focus on their DB room.
Following his successful tryout at Rookie Minicamp, the Eagles have signed cornerback Shon Stephens.
Stephens (5-8, 173 pounds) led the nation in interceptions (16) over the last two seasons. He had eight last season for Ferris State and eight in 2022 for West Liberty.
In 2023, the Bakersfield, California native was the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Defensive Back of the Year and a first-team All-GLIAC player for the Division II powerhouse. Stephens was a finalist for the Cliff Harris Award which honors the best defensive player from a small college.
Just like Eagles first-round pick Quinyon Mitchell, Stephens had a four-interception game (September 9, 2022 vs. Alderson Broaddus) in 2022. He was selected to the first-team All-Mountain East Conference that year.
Stephens impressed scouts while attending Michigan State’s Pro Day on March 13. His 4.38 40-yard dash would have been tied for fifth among cornerbacks at the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine and his 6.99 3-cone drill would have been tied for fourth among cornerbacks.
The cornerback began his college career in 2017 at Bakersfield College, but missed multiple seasons while caring for his mother after she suffered a heart attack in 2020.
Stephens is the nephew of 13-year NFL veteran Joey Porter Sr. and the cousin of Steelers cornerback and 2022 first-round pick Joey Porter Jr.
